Purpose of this page

This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclose of personal information if anyone decided to use Yet Comic Reader.

Privacy Policy

Yet Comic Reader is built as a paid app provided by Kwon Yeong Eon, and is distributed through Apple's App Store, and is intended for use as is.

Yet Comic Reader is not collecting any information of user and none of information of user's computer. And it will not use network connection to transmit/receive any information from internet without user's content.

1.6.4 is ready to release, fix a bug increasing cache size

macOS Mojave has a slightly different behavior in its API that Yet Comic Reader rely on to get cache directory path. It introduced a bug that keeps increasing cache size, consuming free disk space.

Please update to version 1.6.4 from mac AppStore and remove the remained cache directory for retrieve your disk space.

The malformed cache directory is "/Users/<your user id>/Library/Caches/YetComicReaderCache/"

Normally Yet Comic Reader automatically manages its cache directory to take maximum 1 GB space.

What's new in Yet Comic Reader 1.5.14

As I promised with Korean customers, This version of Yet Comic Reader supports Korean language for its user interface.

And App Icon has been changed.

I'm keep working on the next version of Yet Comic Reader to improve it from the bottom.

Yet Comic Reader runs faster on El Capitan

I believe this is because of enhancement of core graphics performance of El Capitan.
This time OS X upgrade is more than worth for every mac.

The long-lived bug killed by Yet Comic Reader 1.5.11, finally...

When Yet Comic Reader's capability which is opening nested archive file (for example, multiple zip files in a zip file) was developed, it brought a small piece of bug together. It was too small and rare to be shown, but still annoys some customers by crashing Yet Comic Reader while opening files.

Yet Comic Reader 1.5.11 is now available on Mac AppStore.

How to customize Cover Page of exporting EPUB

While you are exporting comic file as EPUB format.
You can customize exporting EPUB file's cover image with Yet Comic Reader.

When you export a comic file with Yet Comic Reader, it will show you an option panel like below screenshot.

The default cover image option is using first page of comics. Normally it would be fine to use it as cover image.

But there are some cases, for example, scanned comic book that has been scanned its cover in spread which is scanned front-end and back-end covers together.

The problem is there are no way to find out which part of this image is front and the other.
Left-to-Right reading book's cover has its front cover in right side and backend cover is in left side, but Right-to-Left reading book has opposite way.

Anyway this is developer's problem, not yours.
There are options so that you can just split it and decide which part you want to make a cover.

If the first page is landscape scale, There are two more "Cover" options are activated, "Left half of first page" and "Right half of first page".

The last option is for applying any image file that you like, just drag and drop any image file into the cover page preview box.

How to make custom folder icon

Please refer to the following video instruction to make your own custom folder icons.
(Drag & drop folder on the Composer to apply custom icon, This drag & drop feature will come along next release of Yet Comic Reader 1.5.7)

How to export a part of comic as an image file

When you want to make a copy of comic page, Simply select and drag-drop.
Hot key 'Ctrl+R' is for the rectangular selection, and 'Ctrl+E' is for the ellipse selection.

     1. Select portion of page image that you want to export by Edit Menu > Select or Select Ellipse

     2. Choose "Save as Image" from Edit menu or Ctrl+Opt+S for shortcut or simply drag & drop

         If you don't select part of page, "Save as Image" menu will store the whole page image.

Do you want to change icons of folders containing your favorite comics?
Here is the simplest way to do this with the next coming Yet Comic Reader.

While you are reading your comic book, you find this page is nice. Then choose "Create Folder Icon..." from right click or "Page" menu from menu bar.

Yet Comic Reader will show you the Icon Composer so that you can adjust scale, position of image and text. 

There are two options for you as final actions....

       If you want to save this as a file and use it for other purpose by "Export as an icon file ...".

       Just want to change folder's icon? choose "Apply to a folder ..." and select the folder that you want to change.

Yet Comic Reader 1.4.3 fix the PNG-8 problem

Recently a problem has been found that Yet Comic Reader can not properly open/display comic files that are containing a type of PNG file. The next version of Yet Comic Reader that solves this problem has been submit to App Store. The update will be available soon.

Yet Comic Reader 1.4.2 is under the Apple's review

This version includes improvement of exporting EPUB format that provides better user-expierence thanks to EPUB 3.0 Fixed-layout features of iBooks on iOS, especially when you are reading the converted epub comic books with iPad/iPhone. Thanks customers for encouraging feature-request.

Let's hope Apple can finish the review process before X-mas holiday.

Yet EPUB Reader 1.0.1 released

Dear customers,

Since the first version of Yet EPUB Reader had been submitted to Apple review process,  some minor bugs were found. The first patch version that fixes those bugs has been submitted and will be available through App Store very soon.
